One winter afternoon – and the world was suffering a spell of exceptionally severe winter – a dwarf was marching along a forest path. He was agitated by something, agitated very much. He quickly marched along and paid no attention to anything at all, muttering to himself occasionally, which showed just how upset he was. Trees moved branches out of his way to give him an easy way through, bushes brushed the path in front of him and even the wind blew away the larger snowdrifts so they wouldn’t hinder his walk.
